Metro de Caracas, founded in 1977 and headquartered in Caracas, is the wholly state-owned decentralised public operator of the Caracas Metro, Metrobús surface buses, Metrocable, Cabletrén Bolivariano, and the BusCaracas BRT. Attached to Venezuela's Ministry of Popular Power for Transport, commercial operations began on 2 January 1983.
