BVB Basel, founded in 1895 and headquartered in Basel, is the Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe, the wholly Canton-of-Basel-Stadt-owned independent public-law operator of the city's tram, bus, and trolleybus networks. With around 1,370 employees and CHF 320 million (~USD 291M) in FY2024 operating revenue, it operates one of the densest tram networks in Switzerland and is a major counterparty for the trinational Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg cross-border tram expansion.
