Aarhus Letbane, founded in 2012 and headquartered in Aarhus, is the I/S partnership that owns and operates Denmark's first urban light rail / tram-train system, opened in stages from 2017. Owned 47.2% by Aarhus Municipality, 47.2% by the Central Denmark Region, and 5.6% by the Danish State, it carries roughly 11 million trips a year across the inner city and to Grenaa.
