Riyadh Metro (Lines 1–6 Programme) is a metro project in Saudi Arabia, currently operational.
This 176 km metro line entered service in Saudi Arabia. It comprises 85 stations and 90 km/h design speed. The line uses 750 V DC third rail electrification, CBTC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) is delivering the project, with BACS consortium (Bechtel, Almabani, CCC, Siemens), ANM consortium (Ansaldo STS, Alstom, Bombardier, Idom, Aecom) and FAST consortium (FCC, Samsung C&T, Alstom, Strukton, Freyssinet) as main contractors. It opened in 2025, with an investment of USD 22.5 bn.
Construction began in 2013 and the project opened in 2025.
