Al-Mashaer Al-Mugaddassah Metro (Makkah Holy Sites) is a metro project in Saudi Arabia, currently operational.
This 18.1 km metro line entered service in Saudi Arabia. It comprises 9 stations and 80 km/h design speed. The line uses 750 V DC third rail electrification, CBTC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Makkah authorities are delivering the project, with China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) and CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles (rolling stock) as main contractors. It opened in 2010.
Construction began in 2009 and the project opened in 2010.
