This NZD 403 m (~USD 235 m) contract supplies new rolling stock for the KiwiRail Stadler DM Class Mainline Locomotive Order (66 units) programme in New Zealand. The fleet operates on diesel traction and 1067 mm Cape gauge. KiwiRail is delivering the project, with Stadler Rail (Spain) as main contractor. Under construction since 2021, the line is scheduled to open in 2026, with an investment of NZD 403 m (~USD 235 m).
