Itakpe – Ajaokuta – Warri Standard Gauge Railway

Project overview

This 326 km freight rail line entered service in Nigeria. It comprises 12 stations. The line uses diesel traction and 1435 mm standard gauge. Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) is delivering the project, with Julius Berger Nigeria and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) as main contractors. It opened in 2020, with an investment of USD 874 m.
