Penang Mutiara LRT Line (Silicon Island – Komtar – Penang Sentral)

Project overview

This 29.5 km light rail line is under construction in Malaysia. It comprises 21 stations. The line uses 1435 mm standard gauge. MRT Corp Malaysia is delivering the project, with SRS Consortium (Gamuda + Loh Phoy Yen + Ideal Property) as main contractor. Under construction since 2025, the line is scheduled to open in 2031, with an investment of MYR 8.3 bn (~USD 1.9 bn).
