Project overview
This 836 km rail upgrade is under construction in Kazakhstan. The line uses diesel traction and 1520 mm Russian gauge. Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) is delivering the project, with KTZ Construction as main contractor. Under construction since 2023, the line is scheduled to open in 2027, with an investment of USD 850 m.
