Project overview
This 22.4 km light rail line is under construction in Kazakhstan. It comprises 18 stations. The line uses 750 V DC overhead electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. City Transportation Systems LLP and Akimat of Astana are delivering the project, with China Railway International Group and Beijing State-owned Assets Management as main contractors. Under construction since 2011, the line is scheduled to open in 2026, with an investment of USD 2.0 bn.
