Project overview
This 2935 km rail upgrade is under construction in Kenya. The line uses diesel traction and 1435 mm standard gauge. East African Community Secretariat (with national governments KE, UG, RW, TZ, BI, SS) is delivering the project, with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and Yapi Merkezi as main contractors. Construction has been under way since 2014, with an investment of USD 14.0 bn.
