This 1000 km rail upgrade has been approved in Hungary. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. MÁV and Hungarian Ministry of Construction and Transport are delivering the project. Investment is HUF 860.0 bn (~USD 2.2 bn).
Construction began in 2025.
