Athens–Thessaloniki–Idomeni Signalling Upgrade (ETCS L1, full axis) is a rail upgrade project in Greece, currently testing commissioning.
This signalling upgrade covers 680 km of track in Greece, deploying ERTMS Level 1. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, ERTMS Level 1 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. ERGOSE S.A. is delivering the project, with Alstom-Avax JV as main contractor. Investment is EUR 150 m (~USD 165 m).
Construction began in 2022, with completion expected in 2026.
The project has an estimated investment of €150M.
