Cairo Monorail — West Nile Line (6th of October City) is a monorail project in Egypt, currently testing commissioning.
This 43.8 km monorail line is being commissioned in Egypt. It comprises 13 stations and 80 km/h design speed. The line uses 1500 V DC third rail electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) is delivering the project, with Alstom, Orascom Construction and Arab Contractors as main contractors.
Construction began in 2019, with completion expected in 2026.
