Project overview
This USD 656 m contract supplies new rolling stock for the Cairo Metro Lines 2 & 3 New (Hyundai Rotem / NERIC) programme in Egypt. The fleet operates on 1435 mm standard gauge. National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) is delivering the project, with Hyundai Rotem and NERIC (National Egyptian Railway Industries Company) as main contractors. Under construction since 2022, the line is scheduled to open in 2028, with an investment of USD 656 m.
