NRIC Bulgaria Vidin–Medkovets–Sratsimir Railway Modernisation is a rail upgrade project in Bulgaria, currently under construction.
This 44 km rail upgrade is under construction in Bulgaria. It comprises 160 km/h design speed. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. NRIC (National Railway Infrastructure Company), Bulgaria is delivering the project, with GBS Infrastructure Construction, Duigu Taahhüt Ve Insaat and Medkovets VO 2025 consortium as main contractors. Under construction since 2025, the line is scheduled to open in 2029, with an investment of EUR 512 m (~USD 563 m).
Construction began in 2025, with completion expected in 2029.
