Rail Cargo Hungaria, founded in 2006 from the corporatisation of MÁV Cargo and acquired in December 2008 by Rail Cargo Austria, is the Hungarian rail freight subsidiary of the ÖBB Group headquartered in Budapest. With around 1,900 employees, it is the dominant Hungarian rail freight operator and the principal corridor operator for ÖBB into the Balkans.
