This 110 km freight rail line entered service in Zambia. The line uses diesel traction and 1067 mm Cape gauge. Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) and Malawi Ministry of Transport are delivering the project, with Mota-Engil as main contractor. It opened in 2010, with an investment of USD 120 m.
