This 273 km freight rail line entered service in Uruguay. It comprises 80 km/h design speed. The line uses diesel traction and 1435 mm standard gauge. Ferrocarril Central SA and MTOP UY are delivering the project, with Sacyr, NGE and Grupo Vía Central as main contractors. It opened in 2024, with an investment of USD 1.2 bn.
Construction began in 2019 and the project opened in 2024.
