This contract supplies new rolling stock for the VRE Expansion (Alstom Gallery IV Coaches) programme in United States. The fleet operates on diesel traction and 1435 mm standard gauge. Virginia Railway Express (VRE) is delivering the project, with Alstom Transportation Inc. as main contractor. Under construction since 2024, the line is scheduled to open in 2026.
