South Wales Metro is a commuter rail project in United Kingdom, currently under construction.

A ~£1.3Bn (€1.5Bn) transformation of the 170km Core Valley Lines around Cardiff into a modern metro system. Electrification at 25kV AC completed 100% in March 2026. New Stadler Class 756 tri-mode trains and Class 398 tram-trains replacing diesel Class 150s. Delivered by Transport for Wales with Amey infrastructure partner.

Construction began in 2019, with completion expected in 2026.
