Project overview
This 282 km rail upgrade has been approved in Tanzania. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Tanzania Railways Corporation and Burundi Ministry of Transport and SNCC (DRC) are delivering the project. Investment is USD 2.1 bn.
