This 50 km electrification programme upgrades the existing Slovakia corridor to 25 kV AC 50 Hz. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. ŽSR (Železnice Slovenskej republiky) is delivering the project, with OHLA ŽS as main contractor. Under construction since 2024, the line is scheduled to open in 2027.
Construction began in 2024, with completion expected in 2027.
