This 141 km rail upgrade is under construction in Romania. It comprises 160 km/h design speed. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. CFR SA is delivering the project, with Astaldi, FCC Construction and Salcef as main contractors. Under construction since 2017, the line is scheduled to open in 2026.
Construction began in 2017, with completion expected in 2026.
