CFR SA Rhine-Danube Corridor Brașov–Sighișoara Modernisation is a rail upgrade project in Romania, currently under construction.
This 128 km rail upgrade is under construction in Romania. It comprises 160 km/h design speed. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. CFR SA is delivering the project, with Aktor, Alstom and Arcada as main contractors. Under construction since 2020, the line is scheduled to open in 2027, with an investment of EUR 1.1 bn (~USD 1.3 bn).
Construction began in 2020, with completion expected in 2027.
