This 166 km electrification programme upgrades the existing Romania corridor to 25 kV AC 50 Hz. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. CFR SA is delivering the project, with Webuild and Arcada as main contractors. Under construction since 2022, the line is scheduled to open in 2027.
Construction began in 2022, with completion expected in 2027.
