This 238 km freight rail line is under construction in Oman. It comprises 5 km of tunnels and 200 km/h design speed. The line uses diesel traction, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Hafeet Rail (JV: Etihad Rail, Asyad Group and Oman Rail, Mubadala Investment) are delivering the project, with Trojan Construction Group–Galfar Engineering–Tristar–NICC JV (civil), Siemens Mobility–Hassan Allam Construction JV (systems+signalling) and Progress Rail (Caterpillar, locomotives) as main contractors. Under construction since 2024, the line is scheduled to open in 2028, with an investment of USD 2.5 bn.
Construction began in 2024, with completion expected in 2028.
