Rail Corridor VIII Western Section (Skopje–Kičevo Modernisation) is a rail upgrade project in North Macedonia, currently under construction.
This 103 km rail upgrade is under construction in North Macedonia. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. MŽ Infrastruktura AD and Ministry of Transport North Macedonia are delivering the project. Under construction since 2020, the line is scheduled to open in 2026, with an investment of EUR 350 m (~USD 385 m).
Construction began in 2020, with completion expected in 2026.
The project has an estimated investment of €350M.
