This new station forms part of the Hedjaz Jordan Railway Rehabilitation Programme programme in Jordan. The hub will host 8 platform tracks. The line uses diesel traction and 1050 mm Hejaz gauge. Jordan Hejaz Railway Corporation is delivering the project. Under construction since 2024, the line is scheduled to open in 2026.
Construction began in 2024, with completion expected in 2026.
