Trans-Gabon Railway Modernisation Programme (PMS) 2025–2028

Project overview

This 648 km rail upgrade is under construction in Gabon. The line uses diesel traction and 1435 mm standard gauge. Setrag (Eramet/Comilog 51%, Meridiam 40%, Gabonese State 9%) and Republic of Gabon are delivering the project. Under construction since 2025, the line is scheduled to open in 2028, with an investment of EUR 545 m (~USD 590 m).
