Serving the heart of Aubervilliers, this 3 km extension adds two new stations, Aimé Césaire and Mairie d'Aubervilliers, to the Paris network. RATP and Île-de-France Mobilités managed the project, which required innovative ground-freezing techniques to stabilize the water table during excavation. The new section opened to the public in 2022, placing the center of Aubervilliers within 10 minutes of the capital.
Construction began in 2016 and the project opened in 2022.
The project has an estimated investment of €244M.
