Hong Kong MTR Tung Chung Line Extension

Project overview

This 1 km metro line is under construction in China. It comprises 2 stations. The line uses 1500 V DC overhead electrification, CBTC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. MTR Corporation is delivering the project, with MTR Corporation (in-house design+build packaging) as main contractor. Under construction since 2023, the line is scheduled to open in 2029, with an investment of HKD 24.2 bn (~USD 3.1 bn).
