Cotonou – Niamey Rail Loop (Bénirail / Bolloré Loop)

Project overview

This 1060 km freight rail line is currently suspended in Benin. The line uses diesel traction and 1000 mm metre gauge. Bénirail (Benin Government 60% and Petrolin Group 40%) — formerly Bolloré-led consortium are delivering the project. Investment is EUR 2.5 bn (~USD 2.7 bn).
