Dhaka Metro MRT Line 1

Project overview

This 31.24 km metro line is under construction in Bangladesh. It comprises 21 stations. The line uses 1.5 kV DC overhead electrification, CBTC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) is delivering the project, with Tokyu Construction, Sumitomo Mitsui Construction and Larsen & Toubro as main contractors. Under construction since 2023, the line is scheduled to open in 2028, with an investment of USD 4.9 bn.
