Tanzania Railways Corporation, founded in 1977 and headquartered in Dar es Salaam, is the wholly state-owned national operator of Tanzania's metre-gauge Central Line and the new Standard Gauge Railway corridors. Formed after the dissolution of the East African Railways and Harbours Corporation, it is distinct from the bi-national TAZARA operator co-owned with Zambia.
